Had an interesting day

It was an interesting day. I had some fun at work, as usual, trying to solve some very difficult problems. Can't really divulge much here due to confidentiality obligations. It has been some time since I started on the PhD journey, and I been given some exciting tasks to deal with.

Perhaps it does not pay as well as joining other industries earlier. However, what most people fail to realise is that the process of doing a PhD does equip a serious student with many skill sets that can be used in many industries. For instance, knowledge about the stochastic equations used in Combustion simulations and Turbulence is useful, at least in the past, for predicting the stock market. The vast amount of data to process and understand provides relevant experience for understanding complex problems in multidimensional space. The constant fire fighting in the labs to meet deadlines, is quite an experience. Compared to tasks such as administration that can be easily automated, the tasks in the labs require nimble minds to solve problems quickly.

I suppose this topic isn't interesting to most individuals. Just keeping records so that I can come back one day, and remind myself of the difficult and exciting tasks that were potentially the most fulfilling part of my life.
